About The Position

Ibotta is seeking a Financial Reporting Accountant to join their innovative team. This role will play a key part in driving the success of the business by contributing to the financial close process and building strong cross-functional relationships with other departments through ad hoc process improvements. This position is located in Denver, Colorado as a hybrid position requiring 3 days in office (Tuesday, Wednesday, and Thursday). Candidates must live in the United States.

Requirements

  • 2+ years of public accounting and/or financial reporting experience.
  • Bachelor’s degree (or equivalent) in Finance, Accounting, Economics, Business, or related field
  • CPA strongly preferred
  • Intermediate Excel skills
  • experience with NetSuite, Workiva and FloQast preferred.
  • Strong analytical skills and detail oriented.
  • Ability to work in a dynamic and changing environment.
  • Proven GAAP research skills, internal controls and SOX compliance experience preferred.
  • Solid organizational, written and verbal communication skills required.
  • Detail-oriented self-starter with excellent problem-solving skills, strong adaptability in a fast-paced environment, and a track record of meeting deadlines.
  • Applicants must be currently authorized to work in the United States on a full-time basis.

Responsibilities

  • Execute monthly accounting close procedures (journal entries, reconciliations and analysis) for corporate-related areas, such as debt, equity, revenue, and other areas as needed.
  • Assist in the preparation of all aspects of SEC reporting, including preparation of Forms 10-K, 10-Q, and 8-K, disclosure checklists, and financial statement tie outs, as well as internal financial reporting to management.
  • Assist and coordinate with external auditors during audits and interim reviews.
  • Analyze financial data and collaborate with internal teams to ensure completeness and accuracy of financial information.
  • Identify and support ad hoc process improvements and implementation projects.
  • Create process documentation, accounting policies and build schedules to support journal entries and analysis.
  • Strive to continuously improve and automate the accounting and reporting process and instill proper financial controls, leveraging AI tools as appropriate.
  • Work with external auditors to ensure successful audit results and compliance.
