About The Position

The Financial Planning Platform & Product Manager is responsible for the strategic vision, evolution, and business ownership of Janney Montgomery Scott's financial planning technology. This role serves as the product owner for the firm's planning platforms, ensuring they support advisor productivity, client engagement, planning quality, operational efficiency, and the firm's broader wealth solutions strategy. Acting as the bridge between Wealth Planning and Technology, this individual partners closely various with various internal stakeholders, and external technology providers to continuously improve the firm's financial planning capabilities. The Financial Planning Platform & Product Manager ensures that technology investments support advisor adoption, deepen client relationships, and position financial planning as a scalable growth engine across the firm.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Business, Finance, Information Systems, Technology Management, or a related field required.
  • 5+ years of experience in wealth management, financial planning, business analysis, technology enablement, consulting, or a related field.
  • Experience partnering with Technology to translate business needs into technology solutions and support technology-enabled business initiatives.
  • Strong understanding of financial planning concepts, advisor workflows, and wealth management technology platforms.
  • Experience managing vendor relationships and participating in cross-functional projects involving business and technology stakeholders.
  • Strong analytical, organizational, communication, and problem-solving skills, with the ability to influence across functional areas.
  • Demonstrated ability to manage multiple priorities while driving continuous improvement and advisor adoption of business technology solutions.

Responsibilities

  • Serve as Product Owner for the firm's financial planning platforms and supporting digital ecosystem.
  • Evaluate emerging technologies, industry trends, and competitive capabilities to identify opportunities that strengthen Janney's planning offering.
  • Recommend and prioritize technology investments that improve advisor productivity, planning quality, and client experience.
  • Align planning technology initiatives with the strategic objectives of Wealth Planning, Wealth Solutions, and the broader firm.
  • Balance long-term platform evolution with tactical enhancements that improve daily advisor workflows.
  • Develop and maintain strategic partnerships with planning technology vendors.
  • Serve as the business owner for planning technology, including current and future platforms.
  • Define and prioritize platform enhancements.
  • Lead the business implementation of AI across the financial planning lifecycle.
  • Identify high-value AI use cases.
  • Coordinate pilot programs.
  • Measure business outcomes.
  • Continuously improve the advisor planning experience by simplifying planning workflows, reducing administrative work, and other activities to create a better user experience.
  • Partner with Client Experience and Technology teams to enhance client interaction with the planning process.
  • Partner with Technology to improve integration between financial planning platforms and the firm's broader technology ecosystem, including but not limited to: CRM, Online Access, Account Aggregation, Data warehouses and Reporting platforms, Business intelligence tools, AI applications, Workflow systems.
  • Use analytics to prioritize future platform enhancements and measure business impact.
