USPH is seeking an experienced and energetic Financial Planning & Analyst - FP&A analyst to join our growing company in Houston, Texas. As an individual contributor, the FP&A analyst is a key member of the finance and operations teams, reporting to the Manager of FP&A. The Labor Analyst within FP&A will be responsible for analyzing, forecasting, and optimizing labor-related costs across the organization. This role partners closely with Finance, HR, and Operations to provide insights into workforce planning, productivity, and cost efficiency. Other areas of growth in responsibility are assisting in our yearly budgets, variance analysis, maintaining monthly financial packets, presentations and other ad hoc requests as needed. Additionally, the FP&A analyst aids in the preparation of various financial, operational, and metric analyses for their clinics, and assists in the preparation of the annual regional budget. The ideal candidate is someone who is hands-on, can embrace ambiguity, and loves solving problems. They possess advanced level of data skills, including Excel (v,h and x lookups, index, match functions, etc), data queries, data mining (power query, etc) across multiple databases. The role is Hybrid based at our corporate headquarters in West Houston, TX.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree and 3-5 years of experience in finance or accounting or a related field required.
  • High level of financial modeling expertise in Excel and application to the development of budgets, business cases, financial reports, and metrics
  • Understanding of management and financial accounting principles (including GAAP/accrual vs cash accounting)
  • Experience with financial/business analytics tools (e.g. Workday ERP, Workday Adaptive Planning, Power BI, etc.)
  • Demonstrated success working with team members in multiple locations
  • Experience with a company of high financial and operational complexity
  • Experience developing financial reports and metrics
  • Ability to manage multiple tasks and adapt to a changing, fast-paced environment
  • Superior attention to detail and ability to successfully manage multiple competing priorities while maintaining a view of the big picture
  • Demonstrated ability to influence others through effective verbal and written communication
  • The highest standard for integrity, accuracy, and meeting deadlines
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with excellent written and verbal communication skills

Responsibilities

  • Develop and maintain labor cost forecasts, budgets, and long-range plans
  • Analyze variances between actual labor spend and forecasts, identifying key drivers
  • Partner with HR and Operations to monitor headcount, hiring plans, and workforce trends
  • Build and maintain financial models related to labor productivity, staffing levels, and compensation
  • Provide insights into overtime, turnover, wage rates, and workforce efficiency
  • Assist FP&A leadership with annual budget and all regular reporting of financial and operational data which impacts financial performance
  • Produce and maintain various monthly reports regarding financial performance, variance analysis, updates to rolling forecast, key trends, and KPIs, with input from senior management/department leaders
  • Identify opportunities for cost optimization and process improvement
  • Acts as a line of defense before data is finalized or released to stakeholders
  • Help with quarterly and annual budgeting, planning, and financial management activities
