About The Position

The FP&A Lead is responsible for working with various departments at Northwest to develop, prepare, and analyze internal reporting. This position is also responsible for the coordination, data gathering, and preparing of annual expense, and CAPEX budgets and forecasts.

Requirements

Bachelor's Degree Accounting, Finance, or related degree
6 - 8 years Accounting and Finance related work experience
6 - 8 years Banking Experience
6 - 8 years Budgeting and profitability reporting
Ability to establish effective working relationships among team members and participate in solving problems and making decisions
Ability to present and express ideas and information clearly and concisely in a manner appropriate to the audience, whether oral or written
Ability to actively listen to what others are saying to achieve understanding, sharing information with others and facilitating the open exchange of ideas and information

Responsibilities

Play a leading role in developing the annual budget and periodic forecasts to include timeline development, data gathering, and preparing exhibits for presentation to senior leadership
Support the development and documentation of the annual long term strategic plan
Prepare and analyze budget metrics to assess budget outputs, including loan/deposit growth, loan/deposit yields, loan origination and run-off assumptions, inter-company activity, and year-over-year variance analysis in anticipation of approval by the Board
Build Planning & Profitability reports to enable budget variance reporting
Assist lines of businesses in understanding budget variance reports
Lead the redevelopment and enhancement of line of business profitability reporting (e.g., Retail Banking, Commercial Lending, Consumer Lending, etc.). This will include working closely with senior leadership to develop the preferred reporting format for profitability reporting as well as identifying direct costs and determining the appropriate allocation methodologies
Gather, review, and incorporate data for profitability report assumptions (quarterly/annually/as needed) from multiple disparate sources to assist in the development of activity-based costing methodologies specific to Northwest Bank
Understand and be able to explain to users, funds transfer pricing methodologies
Identify and determine reporting frequency, format, and distribution
Coordinate balance sheet and income statement analysis
Lead routine review meetings with senior management and ancillary report users for input, validation, and to provide support
Maintain documentation of all processes within the Budget & Profitability team, including the creation of process documentation that does not currently exist
Maintain compliance with Northwest policies and procedures as well as industry regulations
Assist in analysis of ROI on proposed capital projects, as necessary
Identify and recommend improvements to procedures
Perform ad-hoc analysis, as necessary
Ensure compliance with Northwest’s policies and procedures, and Federal/State regulations
Navigate Microsoft Office Software, computer applications, and software specific to the department in order to maximize technology tools and gain efficiency
Work as part of a team
