About The Position

Investment Security Group (ISG) is seeking an experienced Financial Planner to support a team of seven Advisors. ISG, founded in 1992, is a "client first" boutique practice offering personalized investment and financial planning services. Since September 2021, ISG has partnered with Hightower Advisors LLC, maintaining its boutique culture while gaining the resources of a larger organization. The Financial Planner will prepare customized and comprehensive personal financial plans addressing goals such as retirement, college, risk management, asset allocation, and estate planning. This role requires a strong background in client relationships, practice management, presentation and communication skills, and experience in Financial Planning deliverables. The Financial Planner will report to the Principal.

Requirements

  • 2 or more years of client-facing Financial Planning experience
  • Bachelor's degree
  • CFP® designation or passed CFP exam
  • Knowledgeable in advanced planning concepts to include personal tax, asset management, financial planning, insurance, trust and estate, and retirement planning
  • Series 65
  • Experience with financial planning concepts; experience delivering applicable advice and implementing their financial plan.
  • Experience with tax, advanced planning, estate and trust, and philanthropic strategies
  • Experience communicating analytical findings for a range of different audiences and the ability to simplify complex concepts for clients with different levels of investment experience
  • Work respectfully in a team environment supporting a growing advisory practice.
  • You are a U.S. citizen, U.S. permanent resident or have other unrestricted U.S. work authorization and will not require sponsorship for U.S. work authorization now or anytime in the future.

Responsibilities

  • Prepare customized and comprehensive personal financial plans.
  • Address financial goals such as retirement, college, risk management, asset allocation, and estate planning needs.
  • Identify a client's current situation, opportunities, and gaps, and advise on specific steps to meet financial goals.
  • Strengthen the relationship between ISG and clients with complex financial situations.
  • Work with senior advisors to build comprehensive financial plans.
  • Support client relationships.
  • Conduct client-focused meetings and presentations.
  • Deliver comprehensive financial planning modules, utilizing various software and proprietary tools.
  • Work with in-house specialists in investments, tax, estate planning, and insurance solutions.
  • Prepare comprehensive financial plans in Money Guide Pro.
  • Perform portfolio analysis.
  • Solve other modules using custom analysis tools in excel.
  • Gather, organize, and process data to prepare financial planning analysis.
  • Use analytical and relationship management skills to uncover clients' needs and position appropriate solutions.
  • Partner with advisors to deliver a seamless client experience focusing on accuracy, timeliness, and accountability.
  • Develop client strategies that incorporate recommendations.
  • Keep current on financial planning topics including wealth transfer strategies, complex retirement needs, Social Security, and tax planning.
  • Co-present financial planning concepts and analysis with advisors.
  • Be available as a direct one-on-one client resource for financial planning questions.
