About The Position

Investment Security Group (ISG) is seeking an experienced Financial Planner to support a team of seven Advisors. The role involves preparing customized and comprehensive personal financial plans that address client goals such as retirement, college savings, risk management, asset allocation, and estate planning. The Financial Planner will analyze a client's current financial situation, identify opportunities and gaps, and advise on steps to achieve their financial goals. This position strengthens client relationships, particularly for those with complex financial situations, and requires a strong background in client relationships, practice management, presentation and communication skills, and experience in Financial Planning deliverables. The role reports to the Principal.

Requirements

  • Experience with financial planning concepts; experience delivering applicable advice and implementing their financial plan.
  • Experience with tax, advanced planning, estate and trust, and philanthropic strategies.
  • Experience communicating analytical findings for a range of different audiences and the ability to simplify complex concepts for clients with different levels of investment experience.
  • Work respectfully in a team environment supporting a growing advisory practice.
  • 2 or more years of client facing Financial Planning experience.
  • Bachelor's degree.
  • CFP® designation or passed CFP exam.
  • Knowledgeable in advanced planning concepts to include personal tax, asset management, financial planning, insurance, trust and estate, and retirement planning.
  • Series 65; Insurance licenses a plus.
  • You are a U.S. citizen, U.S. permanent resident or have other unrestricted U.S. work authorization and will not require sponsorship for U.S. work authorization now or anytime in the future.

Responsibilities

  • Prepare financial plans for prospective and existing clients.
  • Deliver comprehensive financial planning modules utilizing various software and proprietary tools, working with in-house specialists in investments, tax, estate planning, and insurance solutions.
  • Prepare comprehensive financial plans in Money Guide Pro, conduct portfolio analysis, and solve other modules using custom analysis tools in excel.
  • Work with advisors and clients to gather, organize, and process data to prepare financial planning analysis.
  • Use analytical and relationship management skills to uncover clients' needs and position appropriate solutions.
  • Partner with advisors to deliver a seamless client experience focusing on accuracy, timeliness, and accountability.
  • Collaborate with advisors to develop client strategies that incorporate recommendations.
  • Keep current on financial planning topics including wealth transfer strategies, complex retirement needs, Social Security, and tax planning.
  • Co-present financial planning concepts and analysis with advisors.
  • Be available as a direct one-on-one client resource for financial planning questions.
