About The Position

TD Finance is a key partner to businesses across the Bank, comprising diverse teams that contribute to TD's success. TD Finance assists the Bank in making sound business decisions, ensuring regulatory compliance and financial reporting accuracy, safeguarding the integrity of TD's business processes, driving efficiencies with external suppliers, and managing TD's global real estate portfolio. The Finance Operations (FinOps) center, located in Greater Moncton, New Brunswick, is a vital part of the Finance organization, dedicated to delivering efficient finance services with a focus on operational excellence. This diverse team of enthusiastic professionals aims to make a difference at TD by attracting a broad talent pool of experienced Finance operations personnel and post-secondary graduates that reflect TD's diversity. The center is situated in TD’s new Corporate Office at Cadillac Fairview’s CF Champlain shopping center in Dieppe. Co-op and Internship opportunities provide valuable work experience across various TD businesses. Interns will collaborate with experienced colleagues, receive world-class training, and join a community of students across TD, where they can make an impact, grow individually, and experience TD's culture of care. The Co-op/Intern Programming, offered with select roles, is designed to enhance understanding of the TD business, build critical career capabilities, and expand professional networks. This program complements on-the-job experience with leadership talks, lunch and learns on topics like Innovation, Diversity and Inclusion, and Personal Branding.

Requirements

  • Working towards a college Diploma or Undergraduate business or accounting degree.
  • Strong finance acumen – understanding the business and related processes.
  • Solid understanding of the financial and accounting standards applicable to financial institutions.
  • Good analytical skills and challenges the status quo.
  • Ability to assess risk, issues, and challenge the status quo.
  • Adept at using productivity tools and end-user software (such as MS Office suite).
  • Good communicator who engages colleagues, business partners, and external stakeholders.
  • Ability to stay resilient under pressure and during times of change.
  • Works effectively in teams and with multiple partners.
  • Robust organizational skills with the ability to work in a demanding environment and handle multiple deadlines and priorities.
  • Has sound judgment and decision-making abilities.
  • Bilingual (English/French) and speak other languages are welcomed.

Responsibilities

  • Perform general accounting and Finance reporting functions as a member of a high-performing team of Finance professionals.
  • Gather manual and system-generated data to prepare, review, and post journal entries and required transactions.
  • Prepare and review account reconciliations.
  • Perform various accounting functions, including cost accounting, inter and intra segment allocations, tax, and fixed asset accounting.
  • Produce and prepare Financial, Regulatory, or Management Reporting for business lines, involving data gathering, cleansing, and validation.
  • Prepare reporting for TDBG Financial Statements, which may include Management Discussion and Analysis (MD&A), Supplemental Information, or certain Capital Reporting.
  • Support key stakeholders with reporting needs and requirements.
  • Analyze and investigate financials.
  • Execute existing process controls and implement new controls as needed.
  • Deliver quality service and achieve performance goals such as SLAs and KPIs in a transformative and changing environment.
  • Identify operational problems and escalate issues as required.
  • Strive for operational excellence through ongoing process improvements.
  • Stay informed about emerging issues, trends, and regulatory requirements.
  • Maintain knowledge of processes.
