About The Position

BAE Systems is seeking a Financial Forecast Analyst with SQL coding experience to work within the Program Management Office (PMO). This role supports scope planning, resource planning, variance analysis, and continuous improvement activities for a high-profile U.S. Navy weapon system program. The position is a Level of Effort (LOE) service contract with a flexible Statement of Work (SOW) and dynamic contract funding. The analyst will support the PMO’s Cost Management team by identifying, explaining, and planning resolutions for budget variances. This involves evaluating key performance indicators and variables to determine root causes. The role also requires maintaining and improving in-house tools, including a JAVA software application, SQL queries, and automated Excel models. Additionally, the team facilitates scope and resource planning with program technical teams.

Requirements

Bachelor’s degree
Superior communication and presentation skills while performing real-time mental math in response to questions from internal customers during group meetings (i.e., thinking on your feet)
Ability to maintain and diagnose tools and applications based in SQL
Proficiency in Excel: complex formulas, functions (e.g., conditional sums, indexing or xlookup), Power Query
Ability to work independently to research, analyze and resolve issues as well as improve processes

JAVA experience

Familiarity Excel Visual Basic
Familiarity with budgeting concepts and data analysis
Familiarity with Level of Effort (LOE) service contracts
Active Secret Clearance preferred

Responsibilities

Ensure data is current by seeking status from technical teams and implementing updates
Review resource allocation change requests
Implement bulk resource allocation updates
Incorporate new hires into forecast
Switch forecast each month from estimate to actuals for previous month
Perform What-If analysis
Validate data in SQL database
Validate SQL hibernate sequences
Perform root cause analysis and corrective action when JAVA based web app goes down
Update process documentation
Support Business Operations department by analyzing unstructured corporate data
Support data calls from Contracts department
