About The Position

Provides financial, credit, and debt management counseling and education services to patients. Uses alternative means to obtain coverage for uninsured or underinsured patients. Performs complex insurance verification and eligibility determinations, along with varied administrative and highly responsible clerical functions of a sensitive nature. Conducts complex investigative and problem-solving activities to help minimize the hospital's bad debt risk.

Requirements

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Two years of experience as a financial counselor or in a related role in a healthcare environment.
• Five years of experience in a clerical role.
• General experience and knowledge of hospital registration, third-party billing, and regulations.

Nice To Haves

• General experience in bilingual Spanish and English communication.
