Financial Counselor – St. Peter's Hospital
About The Position
The Financial Counselor at St. Peter's Hospital verifies insurance eligibility, pre-certification requirements, and copay amounts for inpatient and surgical patients. The position initiates referrals for patients who are uninsured or have financial needs, serves as an insurance resource and educator for departmental staff, and registers patients accessing Acute Care sites. This is a full-time day-shift position. Applicants must have a high school diploma or GED, at least five years of billing or credit experience (preferably in a healthcare setting), and customer service experience. New employees must pass all applicable state- and federally mandated pre-employment screening requirements. The pay range is $19.20–$24.60 per hour, depending on experience, skills, education, and location.
