About The Position

Haltom Orthodontics is a premier provider of orthodontic care in New Mexico. Our practice has proudly served New Mexico families for over 50 years. We are currently seeking an organized, detail-oriented, and patient-focused Financial Coordinator to join our team. As a Financial Coordinator, you will play an important role in helping patients and families understand the financial side of their orthodontic care. You will be responsible for insurance verification, patient accounts, payment arrangements, billing and collections, and communicating financial information clearly and compassionately. The ideal candidate is highly organized, comfortable working with numbers and insurance, and committed to providing an excellent patient experience.

Nice To Haves

  • Previous experience in dental or orthodontic billing, insurance coordination, patient accounts, or a similar financial role strongly preferred.
  • Knowledge of dental insurance benefits, claims processing, and patient financial arrangements preferred.
  • Experience with dental or orthodontic practice management software is a plus.
  • Bilingual English/Spanish is a plus.

Responsibilities

  • Verify orthodontic and dental insurance eligibility and benefits and maintain accurate insurance information.
  • Review treatment plans and accurately calculate patient financial responsibility, including estimated insurance benefits, deductibles, co-pays, and out-of-pocket costs.
  • Clearly explain treatment costs, financial policies, payment options, and payment arrangements to patients and families.
  • Establish and maintain patient payment plans and monitor accounts for timely payments.
  • Manage patient accounts receivable, including outstanding balances, collections, payment posting, and account reconciliation.
  • Submit and follow up on insurance claims, outstanding claims, and denials as needed.
  • Respond to patient questions regarding account balances, insurance benefits, payments, and financial obligations with professionalism and compassion.
  • Maintain accurate financial documentation and patient account information within the practice management system.
  • Work closely with the clinical and administrative teams to resolve account issues and support a smooth patient experience.
  • Assist with financial reports and other account-related responsibilities as needed.
