About The Position

Rise Vision is seeking a Financial Controller to join their Finance Team, reporting to the Chief Financial Officer. This is a fully remote position. As Controller, you will be responsible for accurately forecasting cash positions by tracking daily cash and profit results. You will ensure internal controls are in place for the secure and accurate accounting of financial assets and meet all regulatory reporting and payment requirements. You will manage the accounting team, ensuring processes are established for timely and accurate financial reporting, including monthly reports to management and the parent company, AUO. You will also manage the relationship with auditors, ensuring the annual audit/review is completed with a clean opinion, and resolve any discrepancies through process improvement. Additionally, you will lead the accounting team, ensuring the execution and continuous improvement of tactics and processes, and foster a culture of trust, candor, transparency, growth, learning, empowerment, performance, and accountability. You will ensure team members contribute at an 'A Player' level and support their development to close any gaps.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance
  • CPA (Certified Public Accountant) designation
  • 7 - 10+ years of progressive accounting/finance experience
  • 3 - 5+ years as a Controller
  • 2+ years experience working for a SAAS company in a leadership role.
  • Experience with month-end/year-end close processes
  • Experience with audits (internal and external).
  • Strong knowledge of GAAP and IFRS accounting standards.
  • Understanding of tax compliance and regulatory requirements across Canada, US and Europe
  • Knowledge of internal controls and processes
  • Track record managing staff and the availability and willingness to work at a senior level yet dive into the transaction level detail and assist as required
  • Proficiency with NetSuite ERP
  • Advanced Excel skills
  • Strong oral and written communication.

Responsibilities

  • Ensure predictable cash forecasting by tracking daily cash and profit results.

  • Complete all reporting within required timelines, including monthly reports to management and the parent company.

  • Resolve discrepancies through process improvement and implementation of new processes.
  • Lead the accounting team in executing and continuously improving tactics and processes.
  • Ensure team members have clear visibility on their critical numbers and quarterly objectives.

  • Ensure team members contribute at an 'A Player' level and support their development.
