About The Position

LumApps is seeking a Financial Controller for its US operations, reporting directly to the Director of Accounting, Consolidation, Tax & Treasury in Europe. This is a high-impact, individual contributor role responsible for building the financial infrastructure to support the company's scaling North American footprint. The position is pivotal following a private equity-backed merger, focusing on consolidating and institutionalizing US financial operations. The Financial Controller will have full ownership of US accounting, statutory reporting, and tax compliance, and will play a key role in the global ERP & Finance tech-stack transformation.

Requirements

  • CPA or equivalent professional accounting status is required.
  • US GAAP expertise is essential.
  • 7+ years of progressive experience in accounting or financial controlling, preferably including experience of SaaS.
  • Strong communication skills with the ability to navigate the cultural nuances of an international organization.
  • Thrive as a "one-person" subject matter expert, enjoying the balance of deep technical work (Accounting/Tax), operational support to the business, and bringing strategic direction to ERP & tooling projects.

Nice To Haves

  • IFRS is a plus.
  • Exposure to US Sales Tax (Nexus) and experience with Avalara or similar tools.
  • Experience with ERP implementation.

Responsibilities

  • Oversee all US financial operations, including managing statutory reporting and local filings with local accounting firms.
  • Manage US GAAP technical accounting and reconciliations between US GAAP and IFRS.
  • Act as the primary liaison between US businesses and European Accounting and Controlling teams.
  • Participate in the global close and shareholder reporting.
  • Serve as the local subject matter expert on US financial issues.
  • Manage the US portion of the global audit, ensuring local documentation is robust.
  • Lead the adoption of new controls and process improvements for global Finance processes.
  • Serve as the US lead for the planned ERP implementation and other finance tools, ensuring US localization requirements are represented.
  • Own the end-to-end US Sales Tax project, including designing and leading the implementation of Avalara or similar tools with external advisors.
  • Ensure Nexus compliance across all required states as the company expands into new jurisdictions.
  • Support Sales & RevOps teams by acting as the local point of escalation for US Sales teams.
  • Provide technical guidance on deal desk queries and contract compliance from a finance perspective.
