About The Position

Henderson Family Enterprises is seeking an experienced Financial Controller to lead their accounting team and serve as a strategic partner for operational management teams. This role oversees all accounting and financial reporting functions across multiple operating companies and leads a team of five. The ideal candidate combines strong technical accounting expertise with the ability to develop people, improve processes, and provide financial insight that supports business growth. The company is looking for a leader who enjoys refining efficient systems, mentoring team members, and helping operational leaders interpret and utilize financial data. This position is required to be in Welsh, LA up to 3 days a week.

Requirements

  • Four-year Degree in Accounting.
  • 5+ Years accounting experience
  • 2+ Years accounting leadership experience
  • Experience producing financial statements, budgeting, and forecasting
  • Advanced Excel Skills
  • Thorough knowledge of U.S. GAAP.
  • Versed working knowledge of financial operations, accounting, compliance, and employee relations required.

Responsibilities

  • Lead and develop Accounting Team
  • Oversee and manage the general accounting functions, including accounts payable, accounts receivable, general ledger, credit management, and taxes.
  • Manage monthly, quarterly and annual financial reporting.
  • Assist in budgeting, forecasting, and cash flow planning processes.
  • Analyze financial statements, including results to budget, gross margin analysis, and financial ratios.
  • Partner with operational leaders to interpret financial results, identify performance trends, and provide actionable insights that support business growth and profitability.
  • Monitor the company’s financial reports and determine ways to reduce costs and protect assets.
  • Monitor cash flow, banking activity, and working capital requirements.
  • Support multiple operating entities, ensuring timely financial reporting across the organization.
  • Develop and maintain strong internal controls, ensuring compliance with GAAP (Generally Accepted Accounting Principles).
  • Drive Accounting process improvements and system optimization.
