About The Position
Taiga is a rapidly scaling off-road electric vehicle technology and manufacturing company seeking an experienced Financial Controller to join our team on a full time basis in Montreal. Reporting to the Director of Finance, the successful candidate will be responsible for all areas of controllership including accounting, tax and financial reporting, bookkeeping as well as internal control policies and procedures.
Requirements
- CPA
- Proven working experience as a Controller, Assistant Controller, or Accounting Manager
- 5+ years of accounting experience
- Advanced degree in Accounting
- English and French, written and spoken, as this position requires communication with government authorities in Canada and the United States.
Responsibilities
- Simplify accounting practices as company transitions from a public company to a private company
- Manage accounting operations including invoicing, Accounts Receivables, Accounts Payables, and General Ledger
- Prepare and publish timely monthly financial statements
- Coordinate the preparation of regulatory reporting
- Run month-end, quarter-end and year-end close processes
- Ensure quality control over financial transactions and financial reporting
- Manage and comply with local, state and federal government reporting requirements and tax filings
- Additional controller duties as necessary
