NextEra Energy Resources, LLC (NEER) is seeking a Financial Controller 1 to join our Equity and Debt Financing Group under NEER’s Finance team. Our group works with the broader NEER finance team and other Business Units to manage NEER’s fleet of renewable project financing portfolio (debt financings, tax equity and other structured equity financings). Our group is involved throughout the entire project finance life cycle – from pre-construction forecasting, front-end deal structuring, to servicing, reporting and optimizing current financings through end of term and until post-term restructuring. Our mission is to support NEER’s growing portfolio of renewable projects by providing our investors and management with timely, reliable & strategic data to make financing decisions. As a Financial Controller in our group, you will be part of a team involved in the following: Project Finance Management → Involvement throughout project finance life cycle Working with Treasury to execute initial fundings, flip buyouts and maturity pay-offs Tracking and reporting of financing and compliance metrics to stakeholders (involves working with Tax Equity Flip Models, and Debt Service Coverage Ratio calculations) Cash management, servicing debt, interest/swap payments and equity distributions across all active financings Accounting and forecasting of earnings and cashflows related to current and future project financings Strategic Initiatives → Front-end structuring, interim optimizations, post-term restructurings and refinancings Ad-hoc analyses on emerging financing needs and strategic opportunities Strategic early buyout and pay-off transactions to execute operational/credit strategies Project financing SMEs for new deals and acquisitions/divestitures Process improvements related to project financings The ideal candidate is a motivated, detail-oriented, and analytical professional who thrives in a team environment. Individuals provide effective, timely and actionable financial information and business analytics on the facilities in their portfolios including monthly, quarterly and annual reporting and analysis on the financial performance of the electric generating facilities, treasury management, as well as ad hoc reporting and analysis as required. Employees in this position apply strong analytical skills to identify and evaluate operational and business issues that impact financial performance and effectively communicate the results to various stakeholders, including business partners in other areas of finance as well as senior management and outside investors.
