About The Position

The AVS Financial Controller and Business Partner serves as a key financial leader, ensuring the accuracy and reliability of financial information, internal controls, monthly closings, and support for budgeting, forecasting, and performance analysis. As a trusted advisor to the General Manager, this person helps drive informed decision-making, operational efficiency, profitability, compliance, and process optimization in a dynamic multi-entity environment. Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting
  • CPA Title
  • Five (5) to eight (8) years of relevant experience
  • Experience with monthly close processes and financial analysis
  • Experience with ERP systems (SAP S/4HANA is an asset)
  • Strong knowledge of Microsoft Office, particularly Excel
  • Solid understanding of accounting principles and financial reporting
  • Strong analytical mindset and business acumen
  • Results-oriented with a continuous improvement approach
  • Ability to communicate effectively with operational and finance stakeholders
  • Strong organizational skills and ability to manage multiple priorities under pressure
  • High attention to detail, autonomy, versatility, and discretion
  • Resourceful, proactive, and solution-oriented
  • Ability to work collaboratively in a fast-paced environment
  • Bilingual (French & English)
  • Flexibility with working hours, particularly during month-end and budgeting periods

Nice To Haves

  • Experience in a multi-entity and international environment is considered an asset
  • Previous experience in a manufacturing or operational environment is considered an asset
  • Experience in public accounting is considered an asset

Responsibilities

  • Review monthly financial statements and ensure the accuracy and completeness of financial reporting
  • Oversee month-end close activities, including journal entries, account reconciliations, accruals, and variance analyses
  • Ensure integrity, reliability, and consistency of financial data across entities
  • Review balance sheet accounts and monitor key financial indicators
  • Ensure compliance with internal controls, accounting policies, and corporate procedures
  • Support external audit activities and prepare required documentation
  • Participate in statutory and tax-related financial reporting activities
  • Act as a trusted finance partner to operational leaders and department managers
  • Support business decision-making through financial analysis, insights, and recommendations
  • Translate financial information into actionable business strategies
  • Challenge assumptions and proactively identify risks and opportunities
  • Partner with various departments to improve operational and financial performance
  • Support managers during budgeting, forecasting, and strategic planning processes
  • Analyze actual results versus budget, forecast, and prior periods, and identify performance drivers
  • Participate actively in budgeting, forecasting, and long-term financial planning activities
  • Monitor margins, project profitability, and cost structures
  • Support cash flow monitoring and working capital optimization
  • Assist in the preparation of business cases, financial models, and profitability analyses
  • Drive continuous improvement initiatives for financial and operational processes
  • Collaborate with corporate teams including FP&A, consolidation, tax, treasury, and internal audit
  • Support intercompany processes, allocations, and transfer pricing activities
  • Participate in strategic and ad hoc projects as required
