The role involves collecting co-pays, deductibles, coinsurances, and down payments, and providing estimates for services when appropriate. The Financial Clearance Specialist receives and processes patient financial liability payments for current and past balances, with a focus on collecting patient liabilities prior to service and resolving any insurance and financial issues before services are rendered. This position is the front line for customer service, pre-registration, and access to care for scheduled services. The role may involve rescheduling appointments when appropriate under the guidance of a department leader.
