About The Position

The Financial Clearance Representative is responsible for ensuring that patients have the necessary financial clearance for services. This role involves interacting with patients to verify insurance information, obtain pre-authorizations, and explain financial responsibilities. The position requires a strong understanding of healthcare billing and insurance processes, as well as excellent customer service skills.

Requirements

Associate degree in business, Finance, Health Information Management or related field.
One (1) year of experience in a customer service-related field.
Experience in providing a high level of customer service.
Experience operating office machines such as personal computers, fax machines, photocopier, and document scanners.

Nice To Haves

One (1) year of experience in healthcare, call center, business, financial or insurance related field.

Responsibilities

Verify patient insurance information and eligibility.
Obtain pre-authorizations and referrals from insurance companies.
Explain patient financial responsibilities, including co-pays, deductibles, and co-insurance.
Collect patient payments and set up payment plans.
Document all patient interactions and financial arrangements in the system.
Communicate with clinical staff regarding patient financial clearance status.
Adhere to all HIPAA regulations and maintain patient confidentiality.
