About The Position

The Financial Associate (Teller/New Accounts) provides a consistent, positive, and professional customer service experience in person and by phone, while demonstrating sales proficiency. The role builds relationships with customers and internal bank personnel, handles customers’ initial needs, assists with opening new accounts, performs routine teller services, cross-sells bank products and services, and refers customers to other lines of business or associates to expand relationships. This universal role offers an opportunity to expand banking knowledge or begin a career in the financial industry.

Requirements

• High school diploma or GED.
• At least two years of retail, sales, or banking experience.
• Demonstrated experience with Microsoft Office Suite.
• Excellent interpersonal, communication, and written communication skills.
• Solid organizational skills and attention to detail.
• Ability to work in a fast-paced, team-oriented environment.
• Ability to maintain confidentiality.
• Ability to lift up to 30 pounds in an office setting may be required.

• Basic knowledge of retail product philosophy, policies, procedures, documentation, and systems.
• Some knowledge of retail products and services.
• Proven customer service and interpersonal skills.

Responsibilities

• Open deposit accounts and ancillary deposit services.
• Process paying and receiving transactions.
• Balance transactions and cash, ensuring proper paper documentation, negotiability, and an adequate audit trail.
• Identify customer expansion opportunities and refer customers to appropriate bank associates.
• Perform account maintenance and related activities.
• Follow established internal controls and regulatory requirements to ensure compliance.
• Meet service standards in person and by phone to provide consistent customer service.
