About The Position

The Assistant to the CFO position will work directly with the CFO and the Business Office team, providing high-level administrative and financial support. The ideal candidate will be highly organized, efficient, detail-oriented, and financially proficient, with strong financial acumen and demonstrated experience working with budgets, financial analysis, financial reporting, and spreadsheets. The position requires a high degree of accuracy, sound judgement, confidentiality, and the ability to manage multiple priorities effectively in a high-paced environment.

Requirements

  • Strong proficiency in Microsoft Excel is required, along with proficiency in Microsoft Office and GoogleWorkspace.
  • Strong financial acumen, with the ability to work effectively with budgets, financial data, spreadsheets, and numerical analysis.
  • Excellent attention to detail, accuracy, organization, and the ability to manage multiple priorities and deadlines.
  • Strong verbal and written skills, with the ability to work independently and exercise sound judgement.
  • Flexible, collaborative, and eager to learn, with the ability to handle sensitive and confidential information with discretion.

Nice To Haves

  • Bachelor's Degree preferred, or an equivalent combination of relevant education and professional experience.
  • Prior administrative, business office, finance, accounting, or related experience preferred.
  • Experience working with budgets and financial data is highly desirable.
  • Experience with Blackbaud or similar financial systems is preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Provide administrative and clerical support, including, file management and calendar organization.
  • Professionally respond to phone calls, emails, and other correspondence.
  • Maintain accurate financial spreadsheets using Excel or Google Sheets; strong Excel skills are required.
  • Assist with the preparation, organization, and analysis of budgets, financial data, reports, and spreadsheets.
  • Document and maintain office procedures guidelines.
  • Research pricing, purchasing options, and other financial information as requested.
  • Run on-campus and local errands as needed for the CFO.
  • Provide support for projects and tasks involving the Business Office, IT, and Facilities, as needed.
