About The Position

The Michigan Department of Treasury seeks a detail-oriented and forward-thinking Financial Analyst to join our team. In this role, you will serve as the Section’s primary analytical resource, conducting financial research, reviewing and interpreting financial documents and bank statements, and preparing clear, accurate reports. You will make correcting entries as needed and draft professional correspondence related to financial and banking activities. This position also prepares, reviews, and evaluates supplemental bank and financial schedules to determine their impact on operations. You will use various system applications to analyze bank and financial accounts and participate in research projects aimed at improving Office processes. Additional responsibilities include developing and writing procedures and documentation, as well as providing backup support for warrant reconciliation. Requirements

Possession of a bachelor's degree in any major with at least 12 semester (18 term) credits in one or a combination of the following: accounting, finance, or economics.
Qualifying ‘professional experience’ is only taken into consideration post-bachelor’s degree.
Financial Analyst 9: No specific type or amount is required.
Financial Analyst 10: One year of professional experience providing a systematic review, analysis, interpretation, and/or evaluation of budgets, mortgages, loans, or other financial data, equivalent to a Financial Analyst 9.
Financial Analyst P11: Two years of professional experience providing a systematic review, analysis, interpretation, and/or evaluation of budgets, mortgages, loans, or other financial data, equivalent to a Financial Analyst, including one year equivalent to a Financial Analyst 10.
All work must be performed in the state of Michigan.
Must have a secure, safe and appropriate designated workspace that allows privacy and prevents distractions while performing the duties of this position, as well as secure and sufficient internet access of commercial cable or wireless broadband with minimum speeds of 25 Mbps download and 5 Mbps upload.
Use of artificial intelligence (AI) software is prohibited.

Nice To Haves

Educational level typically acquired through completion of high school and two years of experience as an Accounting Technician E9 and/or 10, Account Examiner E10 and/or 11, Account Examiner Supervisor 12, or Office Supervisor 9-10 (with the bookkeeping subclass code); or, one year of experience as an Account Examiner Supervisor 13, or Office Supervisor 11-12 (with the bookkeeping subclass code).
College credits may be substituted on a proportional basis (one year of college education may substitute for one quarter of the required experience) for up to one half of the required experience.
