POSITION SUMMARY Reporting to the Director of Finance, the Financial Analyst position is responsible for supporting and progressively leading the company’s financial reporting, month-end close, cash flow management, and financial analysis processes. This role will play a key part in transitioning accounting and reporting activities from an external accounting provider to an internal finance function. The Financial Analyst will prepare financial statements, perform variance analysis, maintain reconciliations and reporting schedules, and support budgeting and KPI reporting. The successful candidate will be a hands-on and detail-oriented finance professional who is eager to take ownership, improve processes, and contribute to the growth of the finance function. For the right person, this role offers strong potential for growth and increased responsibility as they take full ownership of the close and the finance function continues to expand. Requirements

  • 3 to 5 years of progressive accounting or finance experience
  • Hands-on experience supporting or owning a full month-end close process
  • CPA designation completed or near completion
  • Advanced Microsoft Excel skills
  • ERP system experience; Microsoft Business Central experience is considered an asset
  • Self-starter with the ability to work independently and manage competing priorities
  • Strong analytical, organizational, and problem-solving skills
  • Experience within construction, manufacturing, or project-based accounting environments is considered an asset
  • Exposure to cost accounting, WIP reporting, or job costing is considered an asset
  • Experience transitioning accounting work from an external accounting provider to an internal team is considered an asset

  • Microsoft Business Central experience is considered an asset
  • Experience within construction, manufacturing, or project-based accounting environments is considered an asset
  • Exposure to cost accounting, WIP reporting, or job costing is considered an asset

Responsibilities

  • Support and progressively lead the monthly close process, with the expectation to fully own the close process thereafter
  • Prepare monthly financial statements, including business-unit and consolidated P&L reporting
  • Support multi-currency reporting and reconciliations across our Canadian and US operations
  • Maintain and refresh weekly cash flow forecasts and reporting
  • Perform departmental budget-versus-actual analysis with variance commentary
  • Complete balance sheet reconciliations and supporting schedules
  • Prepare and maintain KPI dashboards and financial reporting tools
  • Support the transition of accounting and close workstreams currently managed by an external accounting provider
  • Assist with year-end processes, external reviews, and audit preparation
  • Coordinate vendor and accounts payable activities as needed
  • Identify opportunities for process improvements and increased efficiencies within the finance function
  • Support ad hoc financial analysis and reporting requests
  • Understand and comply with all Policies and Procedures
  • Follow Health and Safety Standards and Procedures
  • Perform other related duties as assigned
