About The Position

Under general direction, the Financial Analyst will develop and interpret complex financial and operational information for analysis; interpret and summarize partnership agreements to extract partner distributions and calculations; prepare and distribute internal/external reporting. Special projects are an integral part of this position.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or Finance, and five to ten years of related work experience, or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Increasingly responsible experience in budgetary analysis and complex accounting procedures.
  • Proficient with accounting software, Excel, and Outlook.
  • Must be able to understand and communicate requirements of debt and partnership agreements.
  • Knowledge of generally accepted accounting principles and procedures in real estate accounting.
  • Knowledge of use and application of online accounting systems.
  • Knowledge of standard software applications.
  • Knowledge of standard office equipment.
  • Demonstrate excellent written and verbal communication skills with Vendors, Affiliates, Stakeholders, Corporate Shareholders and Company Employees.
  • Work independently and in a lead capacity as a team member.
  • Adapt to changing department needs.
  • Establish and maintain positive working relationships with internal and external clients.
  • Demonstrate excellent analytical and problem solving skills.
  • Interpret and explain complex rules, policies, and procedures.

Responsibilities

  • Develop and interpret complex financial and operational information for analysis.
  • Interpret and summarize partnership agreements to extract partner distributions and calculations.
  • Prepare and distribute internal/external reporting.
  • Perform calculations which determine cash flow distributions to partners according to each partner's priority interest and the terms of the appropriate agreements.
  • Prepare related-party transactions schedules for all properties, which detail all partner and affiliate related receivables, debt, and partner fees.
  • Conduct the internal audit program for the portfolio.
  • Prepare the internal audit findings report and make recommendations for improvement.
  • Prepare quarterly forecasting reports, investor reporting, and monthly/quarterly variance reporting, external financial reporting and financial analysis.
  • Provide monthly reporting for shareholders, LP investors, affiliates, and other third parties.
  • Prepare and submit periodic HCD and CalHFA reporting.
  • Maintain debt schedules and track developer notes.
  • Responsible for the quarterly reporting packages produced for our LP investors, affiliates, and other third parties.
  • Create and maintain reports to be published for the market rate investors on a monthly basis.
  • Perform analysis of actuals to proforma on an annual basis and deliver the reports to the leadership team.
  • Provide department with analytical support as needed.
