About The Position

The Financial Analyst partners with the Director of Financial Planning & Analysis and business leaders across the organization to support financial planning, reporting, forecasting, and business analysis. This role is responsible for evaluating financial and operational performance, developing financial models, identifying trends, and providing data-driven insights that support strategic decision-making across retail, energy, fleet, car wash, and real estate operations. The position serves as a key business partner to finance and operational teams, helping leaders understand performance, improve profitability, enhance operational efficiency, and achieve organizational goals. Success in this role requires strong analytical skills, attention to detail, and the ability to translate complex financial and operational data into clear, actionable recommendations.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting/Finance/Mathematics/Information Technology or related subject matter experience.
  • 2-4 years of financial analysis, FP&A, accounting, business analytics or related experience preferred.
  • Exceptional analytical, problem solving and financial modeling skills.
  • Ability to synthesize and analyze data and put conclusions in a well communicated format.
  • Strong Excel skills focused on summarizing, extracting or comparing large volumes of data.
  • Knowledge of the working of standard accounting software packages (preferably Microsoft Business Central).
  • Motivated self-starter with the ability to work autonomously.
  • Ability to manage multiple tasks and projects.

Nice To Haves

  • Experience in multi-location retail, energy, convenience store, car wash or related industries a plus.
  • Experience with SQL and Targit, preferred but not required.

Responsibilities

  • Assist with annual budget and period reforecasting activities across multiple business units.
  • Prepare monthly, quarterly, and annual financial analyses comparing actual results to budget, forecast, and prior-year performance.
  • Develop and maintain financial models to support strategic initiatives, acquisitions, capital projects, new site development, and operational improvements.
  • Support periodic forecasting and scenario analysis to assist management with decision-making.
  • Create ad hoc financial and operational reports to support departmental decision-making and identify opportunities for optimization.
  • Conduct market research and industry analysis to support growth initiatives and strategic planning.
  • Assist with the development and maintenance of KPI dashboards and business intelligence reporting tools.
  • Evaluate the financial performance of marketing programs, pricing initiatives, loyalty programs, and operational projects.
  • Partner with operational leaders to provide financial insights that improve performance and support strategic initiatives.
  • Other duties as assigned.
