We are currently seeking a detail-oriented and analytical Financial Analyst to support margin analysis across multiple data sources while partnering closely with Finance, Operations, Sales, and Supply Chain teams. This role will play a critical part in evaluating cost structures, inventory performance, and labour absorption to drive informed business decisions and improve overall profitability. This position is a hybrid model, requiring the incumbent to report into the office a minimum of 3 days a week to support effective collaboration with cross-functional teams. The ideal candidate combines strong cost accounting experience with the ability to synthesize detailed data into meaningful insights that influence strategic direction.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in finance, Accounting, or related field
  • 3+ years of financial analysis experience, preferably where analysis includes inventory and labour
  • Strong background in cost accounting and inventory accounting
  • Experience working with large datasets and integrating multiple data sources
  • Experience with BI tools (Power BI, Tableau, etc.) preferred
  • Advanced proficiency in Excel (pivot tables, modeling, complex formulas); experience with Netsuite is an asset
  • Strong prioritization skills with the ability to manage multiple projects and deadlines
  • High attention to detail while maintaining focus on the broader business impact
  • Ability to analyze complex, detailed data and translate findings into meaningful business insights
  • Strong problem-solving and critical-thinking capabilities
  • Effective communication skills with the ability to present financial insights to non-financial stakeholders
  • Self-starter with a proactive and collaborative mindset
  • All applicants must meet the eligibility requirements of the Controlled Goods Directorate (CGD).

  • CPA or CMA is an asset

Responsibilities

  • Perform comprehensive margin analysis across platforms, customers, and products by consolidating data from multiple financial and operational systems
  • Analyze cost accounting data, including inventory costs, labour allocations/absorption, time studies and overhead allocations
  • Evaluate inventory performance, including inventory valuation, turnover, and obsolescence
  • Assess labour allocations by platform/customer and the impact on gross margin and operational efficiency
  • Identify and evaluate other cost drivers that are impacting margin (shipping/packaging costs, outsourcing etc.)
  • Identify trends, risks, and opportunities through detailed financial modeling and data analysis
  • Develop dashboards, reports, and variance analysis to support leadership decision-making
  • Collaborate cross-functionally with Operations, Supply Chain, Sales and Accounting to validate assumptions and improve data integrity
  • Provide actionable recommendations to improve margins and optimize cost structures
  • Support budgeting, forecasting, and strategic planning initiatives
