About The Position

Our Financial Analyst is an onsite position that reports directly to the FP&A Manager at Harbor's corporate headquarters and will be a member of the team that is responsible for financial reporting, budgeting, and analysis. Working closely with the Finance and Accounting teams as well as other departments within the organization, the Financial Analyst helps the company make sound financial decisions through research and accurate analysis of financial data. This position may be hybrid eligible after training & performance indicators.

Requirements

  • Strong analytical skills and problem-solving ability.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office products with intermediate Excel skills.
  • Attention to detail, strong organizational skills and driven to meet deadlines.
  • Excellent knowledge of data analysis and forecasting methods.
  • Ability to work well with all levels of management and team members to foster a respectful and professional work environment.
  • Skiledl in being flexible and able to handle changing priorities over multiple priorities, tasks, and situations.
  • Strong communication skills, both oral and written.
  • Basic understanding of distribution and warehousing industries.
  • Ability to make timely and sound decisions while demonstrating good judgement.
  • Bachelor’s Degree in Finance, Accounting, Business, or related field required.
  • 2-4 years’ experience in business finance or other relevant experience.
  • Excel at an Intermediate/Advanced level a must.

Nice To Haves

  • This position may be hybrid eligible after training & performance indicators.
  • Experience with Microsoft Dynamics NAV and SQL reporting a plus.
  • Large company $500MM+ min volume experience preferred

Responsibilities

  • Evaluates financial performance by comparing and analyzing actual results with budgets and forecasts.
  • Assists with period-end review and reconciliation of specific GL accounts, including the preparation of journal entries.
  • Performs financial reporting and forecasting.
  • Works closely with the FP&A Manager and the business to complete timely and accurate budgets.
  • Analyzes past results, performs variance analysis, identifies trends, and makes recommendations for improvements.
  • Identifies and drives process improvements, including the creation of standard and ad-hoc reports and tools.
  • Creates financial models& reporting tools to support decision making across the organization.
  • Reconciles transactions by comparing and correcting data.
  • Gains and updates job knowledge to remain informed on trends in the industry.
  • Other duties as assigned by the FP&A Manager.
