We are seeking a highly motivated and analytical Financial Analyst to join our Finance team. This is an excellent opportunity for a finance professional who enjoys working with data, solving complex business challenges, and contributing to the financial success of a growing organization. Reporting to the Controller, the Financial Analyst is responsible for supporting the organization's financial reporting, budgeting, forecasting, analysis, and accounting functions. The successful candidate will play a key role in ensuring the accuracy and integrity of financial information while providing meaningful analysis to support operational and strategic decision-making. The Financial Analyst will serve as a key business partner to the Controller, supporting financial reporting, budgeting, forecasting, regulatory reporting, ERP optimization, audit activities, and strategic financial initiatives. The position will work closely with the Finance team to enhance reporting processes, maintain financial records, support regulatory requirements, and contribute to the ongoing optimization of financial systems and controls. The position will also serve as a backup resource for payroll administration and related processes.

Requirements

  • Degree in Accounting, Finance, Business Administration, or a related discipline.
  • Minimum five (5) years of progressive experience in accounting, financial analysis, budgeting, forecasting, or a related finance role.
  • CPA designation or active enrollment in the CPA Professional Education Program (PEP) is required.
  • Previous payroll experience is considered an asset; ability to provide payroll backup support is required.
  • Strong understanding of accounting principles, financial reporting, budgeting, forecasting, and financial analysis.
  • Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel and strong working knowledge of Microsoft Office applications.
  • Experience working within an Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP) system is required.
  • Exceptional analytical, problem-solving, and critical-thinking skills.
  • Strong attention to detail and commitment to accuracy.
  • Excellent organizational and time-management skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities.
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills.
  • Ability to work independently while contributing effectively within a team environment.

Responsibilities

  • Prepare and analyze monthly financial results, including variance analysis and management reporting.
  • Assist with the preparation of annual operating and capital budgets.
  • Support monthly and long-term forecasting activities.
  • Prepare financial models, business analyses, and ad hoc reporting to support organizational decision-making.
  • Perform account reconciliations and investigate variances or discrepancies.
  • Assist with month-end and year-end financial close processes, including journal entries, accruals, and supporting documentation.
  • Maintain and reconcile fixed asset records and related reporting.
  • Support the preparation of financial statements, Board reports, management presentations, and strategic financial analysis.
  • Support the Controller in the preparation of Board reports, regulatory filings, financial models, and strategic initiatives.
  • Assist with regulatory reporting requirements and financial data submissions.
  • Provide support for external audits and regulatory reviews by preparing schedules and supporting documentation.
  • Monitor financial data for trends, risks, opportunities, and process improvement initiatives.
  • Participate in the ongoing enhancement and optimization of ERP and financial systems.
  • Assist with the development and maintenance of financial controls, procedures, and documentation.
  • Support accounts payable, accounts receivable, and general accounting functions as required.
  • Act as backup support for payroll processing and payroll-related reporting.
  • Collaborate with internal departments to provide financial insights and support operational initiatives.
  • Identify opportunities to improve reporting efficiency, data accuracy, and business processes.
  • Participate in special projects, strategic initiatives, and other duties as assigned.
