About The Position

Medical Mutual is seeking a Financial Analyst to provide analysis and accurate and timely financial information. This hybrid role requires three days per week on-site in Dublin, OH. The analyst will generate management reports, interface with corporate departments, and work with minimal supervision to solve problems, complete special projects, and conduct monthly activities. They will also act as a best practice/quality resource for colleagues with less experience and guide others in resolving complex issues. The role supports IT departments with generating forecasts and analyzing trends, considering actual performance, previous expenditures, and estimated expenses and income. It involves creating financial models for 'what if' scenarios for business planning decisions relative to new products and completing financial analyses of costs for implementation versus ROI. The analyst will work with guidance on financial analysis situations, be recognized as an expert, demonstrate an understanding of when to escalate matters to management, and propose solutions. For the Financial Analyst IV role, the incumbent works independently, trains and mentors less experienced staff, and handles the most complex analytical issues.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Business Administration
  • 5 years' experience working in financial analysis (Financial Analyst III)
  • 7 years' experience working in financial analysis (Financial Analyst IV)
  • Advanced MS Office skills, including MS Access.
  • Proficient in the use of other automated accounting systems and an ability to serve as a training resource to junior staff members relative to the relevant systems.

Responsibilities

  • Supports IT departments with generating forecasts and analyzing trends in various business areas.
  • Takes into consideration actual performance, previous expenditures, and estimated expenses and income.
  • Creates financial models of "what if" scenarios for business planning decisions relative to new products.
  • Completes financial analyses of costs for implementation versus ROI.
  • Works with guidance in on financial analysis situations and is recognized as an expert in the area within the organization (Financial Analyst III).
  • Works independently on the most complex situations analytical issues and is recognized as an expert in the area within the organization (Financial Analyst IV).
  • Demonstrates an understanding of when matters need to be elevated to management.
  • Proposes solutions when bringing matters to the attention of management.
  • Trains and mentors less experienced staff members (Financial Analyst IV).
  • Supervisory interactions with others in order to coach, mentor, and provide guidance on daily activities (Financial Analyst IV).
  • Performs other duties as required.
