About The Position

The Financial Analyst supports Heritage Health’s financial performance, revenue cycle integration, financial reporting, planning, and decision-making. This position serves as a key bridge between Finance, Revenue Cycle, and clinical operations. The role reconciles revenue and accounts receivable activity to the general ledger, supports month-end close, prepares and analyzes financial information, develops reports and dashboards, assists with budgets and forecasts, and helps ensure the accuracy and integrity of financial data across multiple systems. The position is expected to grow in scope as the analyst develops accounting, reporting, and systems expertise. Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting, Business, or a related field; or 5–7 years of progressively responsible experience in revenue cycle management, financial analysis, or a related field.
  • Experience in healthcare revenue cycle, coding, accounts receivable, financial analysis, accounting, data analysis, or related work preferred.
  • Experience with healthcare EHR/practice management systems such as Greenway/Intergy, Athena, Dentrix, or similar systems preferred.
  • Demonstrated ability to learn financial and accounting processes and work across operational and technical functions.

Responsibilities

  • Serve as a key Finance resource connecting revenue cycle activity, EHR/practice management systems, banking activity, and the general ledger.
  • Reconcile revenue cycle and accounts receivable activity to financial records, including revenue, payments, deposits, and related general ledger activity; research and resolve variances, timing differences, unapplied activity, payer discrepancies, and other reconciliation issues.
  • Prepare or support recurring revenue-cycle and EHR-related journal entries and maintain supporting schedules and documentation.
  • Support reconciliation of deposits, bank transfers, clearing accounts, and related general ledger activity associated with patient and third-party revenue.
  • Partner with Revenue Cycle, Operations, IT, and Finance to improve system-to-finance workflows, data integrity, and documentation.
  • Assist with month-end close processes, financial reconciliations, journal entries, accruals, and variance analysis to support accurate and timely financial reporting.
  • Prepare monthly, quarterly, and annual financial reporting packages for internal and external stakeholders.
  • Prepare financial information and reports for management, including designing new reports and implementing information-gathering processes in new areas.
  • Analyze past results, identify trends and unusual activity, investigate variances, and make recommendations for improvement.
  • Maintain schedules and workpapers supporting assigned balance sheet and revenue accounts.
  • Provide support for internal and external audits, regulatory reviews, cost reporting, UDS report, and other financial information requests.
  • Provide a high level of assurance regarding the completeness, accuracy, and consistency of financial data presented internally and externally.
  • Participate in development of the annual operating and capital budgets, periodic revisions, and financial forecasts.
  • Conduct detailed financial analysis to support budget development, resource allocation, capital expenditures, operational costs, and organizational initiatives.
  • Prepare and manage monthly revenue analyses and budget-to-actual comparisons.
  • Prepare medical cost and other operational cost analyses and budget comparisons as assigned.
  • Assist with long-term financial and operational planning and establish financial milestones and benchmarks to monitor progress and performance.
  • Perform variance and trend analysis to identify risks, opportunities, and areas requiring management attention.
  • Develop models, analyses, and support information for management decision-making and special projects.
  • Research and recommend improvements to financial processes, methods, policies, procedures, and internal controls.
  • Assist with development and maintenance of monthly financial and operational dashboards.
  • Generate recurring and ad hoc financial reports that provide timely, actionable information to management and operational leaders.
  • Use Excel, reporting tools, and available Business Intelligence resources to analyze financial and operational data and improve reporting efficiency.
  • Support financial forecasts and scenario analyses based on evolving operational assumptions, project scope, schedules, and resource requirements.
  • Serve as a key Finance representative in the design, utilization, testing, and improvement of existing and new financial information systems.
  • Analyze system capabilities and user requirements and collaborate with stakeholders on implementation, integration, and process improvement.
  • Standardize and improve financial workpapers, reconciliations, reporting templates, and documentation.
  • Contribute to team efforts and perform other related duties and special projects as assigned.
