About The Position

USAA is seeking a Financial Analyst Lead to guide complex business challenges through financial forecasting, planning, and modeling, specifically within USAA’s technology organization, which accounts for 25% of USAA’s expenses ($3.5 billion). This role involves advising team members on advanced financial analysis and complex financial processes, ensuring compliance with regulations, company policies, and internal controls. The position offers a flexible work environment requiring 4 days in the office per week and can be based in San Antonio, TX or Charlotte, NC, with relocation assistance available.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Business, Accounting, Finance, Economics, or related field; OR 4 years of relevant education and/or experience.
  • 8 years of experience conducting complex analysis and providing actionable insights to various stakeholders.
  • Experience using databases and applications to analyze complex business domains (for example: AI, including GenAI, data center, cloud, or cyber).
  • Experience communicating key business and financial concepts that result in strategic decision making.

Nice To Haves

  • Veteran or military-affiliated professional with experience in Cyber Command, DISA, Pentagon operations, acquisition programs, or technology modernization initiatives.
  • Veteran, DoD, or defense contractor professional with experience in cyber, procurement, logistics, acquisition, technology integration, or AI-related programs, combined with strong financial analytics, business partnering, and executive communication skills.
  • Experience presenting recommendations to senior leaders or directors.
  • Demonstrated ability to support large technology organizations and complex investment portfolios is highly preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Lead, develop, and motivate the team to provide advanced analytics and insights around key business drivers.
  • Anticipate opportunities to tackle complex or unique business problems, providing proactive financial solutions with holistic and forward-looking perspectives to enable better decision-making by senior management.
  • Consistently interact with senior management, becoming their trusted advisor on all financial issues.
  • Make recommendations to solve short-term and strategic financial business problems.
  • Teach and mentor others about complex financial processes, business drivers, and systems, ensuring information sharing and knowledge transfer.
  • Review analysts' work and assist management in assigning tasks and managing workflow.
  • Lead initiatives to develop an integrated enterprise planning process from multiple companies and/or staff agency processes and technologies.
  • Direct analyses and guide the development, enhancement, and implementation of critical processes, programs, and technologies.
  • Anticipate opportunities and potential solutions, lead cross-functional teams through the problem resolution process, and advise senior management on issues.
  • Acquire and apply expert knowledge of the business, its products, and processes.
  • Perform complex and often unique work assignments and problem resolution across multiple systems, functions, or processes.
  • Ensure risks associated with business activities are effectively identified, measured, monitored, and controlled in accordance with risk and compliance policies and procedures.
