About The Position

This role involves gathering and analyzing economic, financial, and other data to support financial planning and operating expense management. The Financial Analyst III will prepare various deliverables for internal and external financial reporting, including insightful financial performance analysis to achieve business goals. The position requires taking ownership, identifying process improvement opportunities for existing processes, reporting, and controls, and driving positive change across the organization. Understanding relevant accounting principles and communicating the application of GAAP to peers and business partners is essential. The role also includes participating in writing white papers to support accounting positions, providing management and direction to junior analysts, overseeing and reviewing reporting and Excel spreadsheet work papers, and documenting processes. Additionally, the analyst will assess internal controls, identify gaps, design additional controls, and oversee the monthly close process, ensuring the validity of financials and reporting results to senior management. The position demands the ability to act independently to complete multiple cross-functional projects with complex objectives, create and maintain reports, and track down, identify, and analyze data sources and variances between systems and reports.

Requirements

Master's degree or foreign equivalent degree in Finance, Accounting, Business, Economics or related analytical field and three years of experience in finance or a related analytical field.
Alternatively, a bachelor's degree or foreign equivalent degree in Finance, Accounting, Business, Economics or related analytical field and five years of progressive post-baccalaureate experience in the job offered or related occupation.
One year of experience in building and managing financial models for business forecasting and variance analysis using advanced excel spreadsheet techniques such as vlookups and pivot tables.
One year of experience in analyzing business processes.
One year of experience in designing and implementing controls.
One year of experience in financial reporting.
One year of experience in managing cross-functional financial projects including project design, requirements, and implementation.

Responsibilities

Assess internal controls, identify gaps in the control process, and design additional controls to solve deficiencies.
Oversee the monthly close process working closely with finance team to ensure the validity of the financials and report results to senior management.
Act independently to complete multiple cross-functional projects with complex objectives.
Create and maintain reports.
Track down and identify sources of data, determine the validity of the data, and analyze the variance in the data between various systems and reports.
