About The Position

The Financial Analyst III provides daily oversight of the Analysts, assists the Manager and Analysts with departmental reports and projects, and ensures that accurate financial information is provided to senior management for decision-making purposes. All functions will be performed within the guidelines of the Seneca Gaming Corporation’s policies and procedures, Internal Control Standards and objectives, and generally accepted accounting principles.

Requirements

  • Must be 18 years of age or older upon employment.
  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or Finance required.
  • Five (5) to seven (7) years of financial or operational analysis experience in the gaming or hospitality industry required.
  • Successful candidate must be an experienced, results oriented, and hands-on professional.
  • Must be able to evaluate and draw implications and conclusions from statistical reports and other business reports.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Excel and Power Point.
  • Experience with MS Access and Word.
  • Ability to communicate effectively both written and orally.
  • Critical thinking skills; the ability to conceptualize, apply, analyze, synthesize, and evaluate information gathered from, observation, experience, reflection, reasoning, communication or raw data, as a guide to developing a course of action is essential.
  • Ability to write correspondence and to speak effectively to the public, employees and customers.
  • Must have the ability to deal effectively and interact well with the customers and employees.
  • Must have the ability to resolve problems/conflicts in a diplomatic and tactful manner.
  • Must demonstrate leadership, fairness, and sensibility to the customers and employees.
  • Must possess ability to instill a sense of pride and personal responsibility in subordinate employees.

Nice To Haves

  • Experience with Infinium, Showcase, ACSC, SQL and Tableau queries preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Directly supervise and conduct financial analyses.
  • Assist Manager and Analysts in preparing the annual operating and capital expenditure budgets, including but not limited to the development of budget packets and forms to be used by department management, answering questions pertaining to the budget preparation, meeting with operational management and presenting the Corporations budgets to Senior Management.
  • Modify and maintain the Daily Operation Report expenses, with focus on accuracy to actual costs and updated reporting to suit the corporation’s needs.
  • Review and provide input on financial analysis of operations and marketing events and assist in measuring the effectiveness of our operations and the financial benefit of our marketing programs.
  • Partner with operations managers to ensure department systems and tools are used to drive overall efficiency.
  • Prepare monthly reports summarizing results of marketing events, including promotions, special events, junket marketing, player development employees.
  • Develop, create and maintain ad hoc reports using SQL Server Report Builder and Bally Business Intelligence.
  • Assist with maintenance and validation of budgeting and reporting software.
  • Attend and participate in monthly financial reviews.
  • Ensure all subordinate employees abide by all internal controls, policies, and procedures.
  • Provide exceptional customer service to customers and communicate in a pleasant, friendly and professional manner at all times. Maintain a professional work environment with supervisors, managers and staff.
  • Meet attendance guidelines of the job and adhere to regulatory, departmental and company policies.
  • Must complete all required SGC Training programs within nine (9) months from commencement of employment.
  • Attend all necessary meetings.
