This role is part of Blue Origin corporate functions, providing centralized support across Blue Origin business unit teams, functions, and locations. Honeybee Robotics Level II FA We are seeking a Finance Analyst with a strong track record of success to play a crucial role in contributing to our mission of reducing the cost of access to space. To further Blue Origin's mission, the Honeybee Robotics business unit is manufacturing customized motion control solutions and developing space mining robots and systems that dig, collect, process, and transfer samples for in-situ analysis and sample return missions. As a Finance Analyst, you will have the opportunity to partner with program leadership to drive financial performance and programmatic decisions!

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Finance, Accounting or related analytical field
  • Minimum 2 years demonstrating performance in a relevant role
  • Moderate proficiency in data extraction using SQL programming
  • Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel, Word, and PowerPoint
  • Ability to earn trust and maintain positive, professional relationships with key business partners and the broader finance team
  • Experience with extracting data from qualitative and quantitative data sources to support business planning and performance measurement
  • Intellectual curiosity in the products, underlying business processes and impact of financial decisions within the Honeybee Robotics business unit

Nice To Haves

  • Experience working in a fast-paced, dynamic environment
  • Experience with IFS, Databricks, D365, or other ERP and BI tools
  • Experience with supporting government contracts
  • Successful support of programs through DCMA/DCAA, joint site surveillance, or other government audits

Responsibilities

  • Build and implement automation using AI/Excel/SQL and approved tooling to reduce cycle time and error rates
  • Mine and reconcile data across systems; improve data quality through root-cause analysis and upstream fixes with process owners
  • Assist in the month-end close process from start through the reporting cycle, including preparation and reconciliation of journal entries and customer invoicing
  • Work with department owners to manage expense budgets
  • Work with program management to monitor performance and estimates on a continual basis
  • Analyze financial performance of individual projects
  • Develop reporting that provides insights into the key drivers of the business's financial performance
  • Build and continuously improve financial processes, including but not limited to developing financial models and reporting, identifying key performance drivers and introducing new analytical methods
  • Develop strong knowledge of our ERP system (IFS) and lead efforts to move manual processes into the system
