About The Position

The Financial Analyst I gathers and analyzes financial information and prepares reports to support administrators and departmental leadership in making recommendations. These reports provide internal control over fiscal activity on operating, restricted fund, and endowment accounts, as well as other departmental financial activities.

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in Accounting or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
• Three years of experience in Finance.

Responsibilities

• Assist in reviewing monthly budgets, funds, and general ledgers for the department or business unit, including clinical trials and grants when applicable, and provide fluctuation analysis.
• Communicate with accounting staff to obtain variance explanations, alert them to wire transfers, and ensure revenue and expenses are captured properly.
• Assist with preparing regular reports and invoices and follow up with department administrators regarding actual variances from approved budgets.
• Prepare and submit purchase orders, contracts, invoices, check requests, petty cash vouchers, travel requests and vouchers, and fund transfers as necessary.
• Monitor grants, clinical trials, and other revenue- and expense-driven projects as needed, ensuring timely preparation of reports.
• Prepare transmittal instructions for checks and cash to accompany them to the main cashier or Finance for deposit and credit to the appropriate account, as needed.
• Input and review staff payroll and maintain records.
• Assist in monitoring insurance provider payments to determine revenue streams, as needed.
• Perform other related duties.
