About The Position

The Financial Analyst I is responsible for preparing and analyzing budgets and operational performance reports. Working under clear guidance, this entry-level role partners with functional and operations managers to develop annual budgets and identify corrective actions when cost performance deviates from targets.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting, Business Administration, or a demonstrated equivalent field of study.
  • Entry-level professional capacity with a strong foundation in basic financial and accounting principles.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills, exceptional organizational abilities, and a proven aptitude for detail-oriented work.
  • Working knowledge of standard word-processing platforms, integrated financial software applications, and spreadsheet models (such as Excel).
  • Ability to travel occasionally as required by project needs.
  • Ability to obtain and maintain a U.S. Government Secret Security Clearance (U.S. Citizenship is required).

Responsibilities

  • Track, process, and distribute recurring financial deliverables.
  • Develop annual budgets for assigned customers under the direct guidance of senior team members.
  • Generate standard weekly and monthly financial reports that contrast actual operational performance against approved budget targets.
  • Identify cost variances and overruns, flagging discrepancies to functional and operations managers for further review.
  • Prepare forecasts to support estimates at completion and total funding requirements by CLIN for each customer assigned.
  • Reconcile open commitments with procurement and subcontracts data to ensure foundational data integrity for upcoming forecasts.
  • Coordinate with Accounting to produce accurate invoices for customers.
  • Support all collection efforts.
  • Support monthly financial customer review to include briefing the customer, answering questions, and engaging with operations and functional management to provide a comprehensive financial briefing.
  • Participate in cost proposal development for various construction and targets projects.
  • Perform all other position-related duties as assigned or requested.
