About The Position

ICM Solutions, a leader in crushing, underground mining rebuild, and white paving equipment, service, and solutions across the Mountain West, is seeking a motivated and curious Financial Analyst to join its growing Finance team. This role will support budgeting, forecasting, financial reporting, and operational analysis, transforming financial and operational data into meaningful insights to support decision-making and business performance. It offers an excellent opportunity for a developing finance professional to gain exposure to all aspects of financial planning and analysis within a growing, multi-location organization serving the heavy equipment and construction industries. The ideal candidate is naturally curious, enjoys working with data, possesses strong analytical skills, and seeks to develop into a strategic finance business partner.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Finance, Accounting, Economics, Business Analytics, Statistics, or a related field.
  • 2-4 years of experience in financial analysis, accounting, FP&A, corporate finance, or related analytical roles.
  • Strong Microsoft Excel skills, including pivot tables, lookups, financial formulas, and data analysis techniques.
  • Understanding of financial statements and fundamental financial analysis concepts.
  • Ability to work with large data sets and translate information into actionable insights.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Excellent attention to detail and commitment to accuracy.
  • Effective verbal and written communication skills.
  • Ability to build relationships and work collaboratively across departments.
  • Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities and deadlines.
  • Self-motivated learner with a desire to expand financial planning and analysis expertise.

Nice To Haves

  • Experience within industrial distribution, manufacturing, construction, equipment, transportation, or related industries is preferred but not required.
  • Internship or early-career experience supporting budgeting, forecasting, or financial reporting is beneficial.
  • Experience with ERP systems, Power BI, or similar reporting tools is a plus.
  • Naturally curious and eager to understand business operations.
  • Comfortable asking questions and challenging assumptions through data-driven analysis.
  • Strong business acumen with an interest in operational performance and continuous improvement.
  • Team-oriented and receptive to coaching, feedback, and professional development.

Responsibilities

  • Support the annual budgeting process and periodic financial forecasting activities.
  • Assist in maintaining forecast models and planning tools used throughout the organization.
  • Work with department managers to gather information, validate assumptions, and analyze forecast results.
  • Participate in monthly forecast updates and analysis of business trends.
  • Perform variance analysis comparing actual results to budget, forecast, and prior-period performance.
  • Analyze revenue, gross margin, operating expenses, inventory performance, and profitability trends.
  • Support pricing, customer, product, and business segment analyses.
  • Assist in preparing business cases, return-on-investment analyses, and other decision-support materials.
  • Identify trends, risks, and opportunities and communicate findings to finance leadership.
  • Prepare recurring financial reports, dashboards, and KPI scorecards.
  • Assist in the development and maintenance of management reporting packages.
  • Compile, organize, and analyze financial and operational data from multiple systems.
  • Create clear and concise visualizations and summaries for leadership and department managers.
  • Support ad hoc reporting requests from finance and operational leaders.
  • Partner with accounting and operational teams to validate financial and operational data.
  • Support department managers in understanding budget performance and key business metrics.
  • Provide analytical support to initiatives focused on improving operational efficiency and profitability.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to improve reporting processes and data quality.
  • Assist with month-end financial review and management reporting activities.
  • Support strategic planning and special projects as assigned.
  • Contribute to continuous improvement initiatives within the Finance department.
