Essential Job Duties ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES: Note: All City of Fayetteville positions require employees to provide good customer service to both internal and external customers, maintain positive and effective working relationships with other City employees (especially members of their own team), and have regular and reliable attendance that is non-disruptive. Other essential duties of this position include the following: 1. Assist with the coordination and production of a Mayor proposed budget and a City Council adopted budget. 2. Assist with the coordination and production of a proposed Five-Year Capital Improvement Program and a City Council adopted Five-Year Capital Improvement Program including detailed project descriptions which fit within the funding available for capital improvements. 3. May assist with the coordination, monitoring and maintenance of the project accounting system for all capital projects to ensure budgetary compliance is achieved. Provide consultation to department directors, division heads and project managers on capital budget and expenditure matters to ensure all budget and accounting principles are followed. 4. Provide consultation to various department directors and division heads on position budget and expenditure matters to ensure all budget principles are followed. 5. May assist with maintaining the position control system. 6. Evaluate capital project and operational budget submissions for accuracy and funding requirements. Perform financial analyses as needed to determine cost-benefit, fiscal impact and cost effectiveness. 7. Maintain Capital Improvement Program and budget systems software utilizing commercially available database, spreadsheet, and word processing applications. 8. Participate in the development and management of various database programs to support budgeting, tracking, analysis, and financial reporting. 9. Review budget performance reports to ensure they comply with the City’s budgetary policies and proposed budget amendments as needed. 10. Assist on special projects with division staff and upper management to provide reports and recommendations regarding City operations and city-wide policies and procedures. 11. Prepare reports as necessary for management requirements. 12. Perform other related duties as required or assigned. Secondary Job Duties Secondary duties as assigned.
