About The Position

Serve as a junior financial analyst on the Balance Sheet Advisory team, partnering with Finance and business stakeholders to translate balance sheet constraints, regulatory considerations, and financial tradeoffs into clear, decision useful insights. The role supports analysis related to capital, liquidity, returns, and balance sheet usage across lines of business, with exposure to senior leadership discussions and enterprise wide priorities. This position is well suited for a highly curious, hard working, early career professional who enjoys learning how the “plumbing” of a bank works, asks good questions, can juggle multiple priorities and deliver high quality work in a fast paced, service oriented environment. The role emphasizes analytical rigor, clear communication, and a strong ownership mindset, while building foundational experience in financial services and advisory work.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, Economics, Business, or a related field, or equivalent education and training.
  • 0–4 years of relevant experience in accounting, finance, analytics, or a related field. Relevant experience may include internships, rotational programs, or academic project work involving financial analysis.
  • Ability to take direction, apply feedback, and work independently over time while considering broader implications and identifying when additional analysis or support is needed.
  • Ability to build consensus through communication and presentation of factual and relevant information.

Responsibilities

  • Collaborate across the Finance division to support the integrity of financial results and adherence to sound controls and procedures. Assists with reporting and analysis for additional constituencies, which may include senior management, Investor Relations, and regulatory stakeholders, with guidance as appropriate.
  • Apply foundational to intermediate finance and accounting knowledge to produce relevant financial analysis and reporting, while progressively deepening understanding of business concepts, financial drivers, and enterprise processes.
  • Compile, review, and contribute to timely and accurate reporting related to financial performance and strategy. Reporting activities may include pro forma projections, income and expense forecasts, cash flow analysis, variance analysis, and summaries or visualizations of data to highlight key results. Ensure source data is reliable and complete and that documentation is maintained to support data integrity initiatives. Assist in interpreting and summarizing results and trends for senior leadership.
  • Apply analytical frameworks, training, and best practices to assist in solving operational or technical problems of increasing complexity. Analyze possible solutions using data, judgment, and precedent, escalating and collaborating as appropriate. Draft materials that summarize issues and proposed solutions for review by senior team members and leadership.
  • Support monthly financial close, forecasting, and annual financial planning processes by reviewing outputs for accuracy and reasonableness and assisting with required analyses and documentation. Assists in developing, maintaining, and testing economic or financial models as needed.
  • Build and maintain strong working relationships with supported business partners and cross‑functional teams to deliver high‑quality work, broaden business knowledge, and solve increasingly complex situations.
  • Support coordination with internal and external audits and examinations, including preparing responses in collaboration with Accounting Policy and other stakeholders. Assists with risk management governance and business continuity planning activities as needed.
