About The Position

The University of Miami/UHealth Department of Obstetrician & Gynecologist (OBGYN) has an exciting opportunity for a full-time Financial Analyst 2 (H) to work in Miami, FL. The Financial Analyst 2 compiles and analyzes financial information for Auxiliary Services in an efficient and accurate manner. Moreover, the incumbent assists management in the decision-making process and strategic planning by presenting relevant financial reports in a clear, concise, and timely manner.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in relevant field required
  • Minimum 3 years of relevant experience required

Responsibilities

  • Prepares and coordinates documentation of financial analysis projects such as budgets, forecasts, projections, expense performance, and presentations.
  • Identifies trends and developments in competitive environments and presents findings.
  • Provides analytical support for forward-looking financial or business-related projects.
  • Performs financial forecasting and reconciliation of accounts.
  • Designs and builds various models that summarize several different scenarios around growth and expansion initiatives or opportunities.
  • Develops and maintains performance and productivity dashboards, models, or analyses.
  • Collects, interprets and analyzes relevant data or metrics.
  • Develops and maintains reports to support plans, business decisions, operational changes, strategic plans and new services.
  • Resolves any reporting issues.
  • Liaisons with a variety of vendors that provide services for the University to ensure adherence to the terms and conditions of their respective agreements.
  • Makes recommendations to align policies and procedures with best practices and capitalize on financial opportunities.
  • Supports the Director and Sr. Financial Analyst with accounting and reporting functions.
  • Adheres to University and unit-level policies and procedures and safeguards University assets.
  • Serves as the primary financial partner to the Director of Finance, providing day-to-day analytical and operational support across all departmental financial activities.
  • Supports the execution and ongoing management of the department’s operating budget, with a focus on tracking performance, anticipating variances, and ensuring alignment with financial targets.
  • Assists in monthly financial close activities, including preparation of accruals, validation of financial data, and reconciliation support to ensure accurate and timely reporting.
  • Contributes to the development of proformas, business plans, and financial summaries for strategic initiatives, including provider recruitment, clinical expansion, and new program development.
  • Supports analysis of physician productivity, compensation, and volume trends, helping translate data into meaningful insights for operational and financial decision-making.
  • Assists with the financial oversight and reconciliation of AOA-related activities, ensuring accuracy and consistency with contractual and institutional expectations.
  • Works closely with faculty, practice managers, and administrative leadership to support financial transparency and facilitate informed decision-making.
  • Supports payroll-related financial processes, including faculty incentives, overload payments, and effort-based allocations, ensuring accuracy and compliance with established guidelines.
  • Maintains well-organized, audit-ready financial records and supporting documentation for internal review, audits, and reporting requirements.
  • Coordinates with central offices (e.g., Finance, Sponsored Programs, Payroll) to resolve issues efficiently and ensure accurate financial processing.
  • Proactively identifies and supports improvements to financial workflows, reporting, and internal processes to enhance efficiency and accuracy.
  • Anticipates the needs of the Director of Finance by preparing analyses, materials, and insights in advance of deadlines, meetings, and key decision points.
  • Provides reliable, high-quality support on ad hoc analyses and time-sensitive requests, demonstrating strong judgment, responsiveness, and attention to detail.
