About The Position

The Department of Economic Security, Division of Technology Services (DTS), is seeking an experienced and highly motivated professional to join our team as a Financial Analyst 2. The primary duties will be responsible for all forecasting, analysis, and monitoring of division budget and spending. This includes preparing various advanced fiscal and operating reports involving detailed analysis of financial outlooks, spending trends, staffing levels, and other comprehensive analyses, preparing project cost analyses, as well as cost benefit and break-even analyses. This position provides financial expertise to division and programmatic leadership and to external partners, such as the Financial Services Administration (FSA), on financial and budget matters pertaining to DTS, including budget, cash management, reconciliation, compliance with state and federal regulations, forecasts, and monitoring. This position will serve with minimal guidance, as it leads team and administration-wide trainings, coordinates cross-team initiatives, and performs ad-hoc analyses with quick turnaround. This position may offer the ability to work remotely within Arizona based upon the department's needs and continual meetings of expected performance measures. Nice To Haves

  • Bachelor's Degree in Accounting, Finance, Economics or Business Administration with a specialization in accounting, finance or economics from an accredited college or university.

Responsibilities

  • Function as single point of contact between the Business Management Office (BMO) and FSA support team, providing guidance and customer support. Attend formal and informal meetings to ensure proper knowledge of DTS projects and adequate communication with division personnel. Prepare appropriate materials for those meetings
  • Research and analyze expenditure and revenue trends for the purpose of reporting fiscal position, preparing external and internal reports, and preparing forecasts with minimal supervision.
  • Identify, research, review, analyze, and establish possible impacts of proposed technology projects and initiatives.
  • Develop and maintain fiscal summary information and resource information for division, including data such as forecasting and historical spending patterns. Prepare in-depth cost-benefit analyses and break-even analyses with minimal supervision.
