The Department of Economic Security (DES), Division of Financial Operations, is seeking an experienced and highly motivated individual to join our team as a Financial Analyst 1. This position serves as a dedicated point of contact and financial resource for one or more programs or subprograms. Responsibilities include forecasting, analysis, federal reporting, and monitoring of assigned programs. This position prepares fiscal and operating reports that may involve a detailed analysis of financial outlooks, spending trends, staffing levels, and other comprehensive analyses; identifying, researching, and analyzing possible impacts of proposed legislation and funding modification; and preparing formal bill analyses, as well as cost-benefit and break-even analyses. Additionally, this role provides financial guidance to Department and programmatic leadership, and external partners, including the Governor's Office of Strategic Planning and Budgeting (OSPB) and the Joint Legislative Budget Committee (JLBC) on financial budget matters pertaining to assigned programs, while ensuring compliance with state and federal regulations and supporting budget development, cash management, reconciliations, and financial reporting. This position may offer the ability to work remotely, within Arizona, based upon the department's business needs and continual meeting of expected performance measures.
