About The Position

The Financial Aid Quality Assurance Specialist is responsible for ensuring compliance with Title IV financial aid regulations through student file reviews and packaging audits. This role involves reviewing financial aid files for compliance with federal Title IV and state regulations and institutional policies, as well as timely and accurate promotion or demotion of financial aid files in Anthology and related student information systems. The specialist will update systems with appropriate notes and statuses to ensure timely and accurate packaging and disbursement of aid awards, and communicate effectively with coworkers and supervisors to resolve questions, concerns, or discrepant student data. Additionally, the role includes calculating file review rejection & approval rates for supervisor review, staying up-to-date with TIV Regulations, assisting with annual SFA Audits, reviewing Cal Grant eligibility and certifying Cal Grant rosters, and assisting with other Financial Aid Projects as needed.

Requirements

• 1 year of experience packaging or auditing Title IV financial aid
• Ability to demonstrate effective and professional communication skills
• Ability to demonstrate critical thinking and problem solving skills.
• Ability to multi-task in a fast-paced environment.
• Strong computer skills, proficient in all Microsoft Office applications.
• Strong organizational skills and ability to demonstrate attention to detail.

Nice To Haves

• Associate degree in relevant field preferred but will consider experience in lieu of degree.

Responsibilities

• Review financial aid files for compliance with federal Title IV and state regulations and institutional policies.

• Update Anthology and related student information systems with appropriate notes and statuses to ensure timely accurate packaging and disbursement of aid awards.

• Remain up to date with TIV Regulations, attend training, etc.
• Assist with the preparation of student files for annual SFA Audits.
• Review Cal Grant eligibility and certify Cal Grant rosters.
• Assist with other Financial Aid Projects as needed.
