About The Position

The University of Nevada, Las Vegas (UNLV) is seeking a Financial Aid Processing Analyst to join the UNLV Financial Aid department. This role reports to the Senior Assistant Director of Financial Aid Processing and the Processing Coordinator. The primary responsibility is to manage the processes involved in packaging, awarding, troubleshooting, and cleaning up Federal and State grants, as well as Federal and Private loans on student accounts. The position involves processing awards and award changes from application receipt to completion in PeopleSoft and SFA. The analyst will also resolve escalated financial aid process issues using case management in Salesforce (SF) or queries and reports from PeopleSoft (PS) or SFA. Additionally, this role includes participating in outreach activities to meet with prospective and current students and parents, explaining financial aid processes, and reviewing student accounts for eligibility and award status. All positions in Academic Affairs contribute to the core mission of increasing enrollment and promoting equitable student success by addressing systemic obstacles and implementing strategic services, programs, and support to enhance student enrollment, retention, progression, timely completion, and equitable outcomes. Evening and weekend work may be necessary, and occasional travel may be required.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s Degree from an accredited college or university as recognized by the United States Department of Education and/or the Council on Higher Education Accreditation (CHEA).
  • 1 - 3 years Related Professional Experience.
  • Credentials must be obtained prior to the employment start date.
  • Degree must be from a regionally accredited institution of higher education.
  • Employee must not be in overpayment or default status for any Federal Student Aid program or award.

Responsibilities

  • Carry out processes surrounding packaging, awarding, troubleshooting, and clean-up of Federal and State grants and Federal and Private loans on student accounts.
  • Process awards and changes to awards from receipt of application (either electronic or paper) to completion in PeopleSoft and SFA.
  • Resolve issues with financial aid processes as escalated by various constituents and through case management in SalesForce (SF) or queries and reports from PeopleSoft (PS) or SFA.
  • Attend outreach activities to meet 1:1 with prospective and current students and parents, explain financial aid processes and review student accounts for eligibility and award status.
  • Contribute to increasing enrollment and promoting equitable student success by addressing systemic obstacles and implementing strategic services, programs, and support.
  • Enhance student enrollment, retention, successful progression, timely completion, and equitable outcomes.
  • Expand access, grow enrollment, and promote career-ready student success that leads to timely graduation.
