About The Position

Viterbo University is seeking a Financial Aid Counselor to support student success by providing financial aid counseling, administering aid programs, and ensuring accurate processing of financial aid awards and funding. The position serves current and prospective students, parents, and staff, and supports financial aid communications and program administration. It is a full-time, 12-month, exempt position.

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree required.
• Strong analytical, communication, managerial, and technology skills.

Nice To Haves

• Minimum two years of financial aid experience preferred.

Responsibilities

• Provide financial aid counseling and front-line customer service to current and prospective students, parents, and staff.
• Support communications activities, including document tracking, missing-information follow-up, and award letter generation.
• Administer Wisconsin state funding and programming, including reconciliation.
• Perform need analysis and awarding.
• Serve as the Study Abroad liaison to the Financial Aid Office.
• Manage private student loan certifications, disbursements, and adjustments.
• Reconcile the federal student loan program.
• Perform other financial aid or related duties as assigned by the Director or Assistant Director of Financial Aid.
