About The Position

The Financial Aid Associate will assist in the daily operations of the Financial Aid Office by providing administrative and student support services. This role involves responding promptly to financial aid inquiries via phone, email, and voicemail, ensuring accurate and timely communication. The associate will also perform front counter duties, offering exceptional customer service to students, parents, and campus visitors, and providing financial aid counseling and guidance when appropriate. Key responsibilities include collaborating with Human Resources on tuition remission and the Graduate Assistant Program, managing the default prevention process, coordinating student loan exit counseling, and maintaining accurate student records in compliance with all relevant policies and regulations. The goal is to support the Financial Aid Office in delivering high-quality service while upholding confidentiality and regulatory compliance.

Requirements

  • High school diploma or GED
  • 1 to 3 years of work related experience
  • Microsoft Office (Outlook, Word, PowerPoint, Excel)
  • PowerFAIDS (Financial Aid System)

Responsibilities

  • Respond promptly to financial aid phone inquiries, emails, and voicemail messages, ensuring accurate and timely communication.
  • Perform front counter duties, providing exceptional customer service to students, parents, and campus visitors.
  • Greet students and families, answer questions, and provide financial aid counseling and guidance when appropriate.
  • Collaborate with the Human Resources department to administer tuition remission and the Graduate Assistant Program.
  • Manage the default prevention process by monitoring student loan repayment and implementing outreach strategies to reduce loan defaults.
  • Coordinate the student loan exit counseling process for graduating and withdrawn students to ensure compliance with federal regulations.
  • Maintain accurate student records and ensure adherence to institutional, state, and federal financial aid policies and procedures.
  • Support the Financial Aid Office in delivering high-quality service while maintaining confidentiality and regulatory compliance.
  • Answering phones, work counter, counsel parents and student on financial aid.
  • Process tuition remission and send out special award letters.
  • Follow up with students by email, phone and letters concerning Tuition remission and loan counseling.
  • Review all subsequents (ISIR'S) Institutional student information reports.
  • Manage graduating, withdrawn or below half time students.
  • Assist with Financial aid Emails and Voicemail.
