About The Position

Maintain databases within guidelines: perform data entry; identify and clarify incomplete or inconsistent data; resolve related problems. Prioritize office activities and delegate work to student and/or casual employees. Answer, screen and respond to high volume of telephone calls, voicemails, and emails. Serve as primary source of information to the general public, students, staff and faculty on policies, procedures, programs, and office activities. Cover for other staff as needed in other student facing roles. Operate personal computer equipment using a variety of database and spreadsheet software applications; analyze project requirements and feasibility; clarify project specifications; establish work priorities; set-up, type and generate a variety of documents usually of a mathematical/technical nature. May scan documents for future retrieval. Train users in operating database programs.

Requirements

  • High School Diploma or equivalent
  • 3+ years of office experience
  • Experience providing a high level of customer service
  • Proficiency with intermediate to advanced word processing, spreadsheet and database applications
  • Moderate to fast, accurate keyboarding
  • Good proofreading and writing skills
  • Strong attention to detail

Nice To Haves

  • 2+ years of office experience (with Associate's degree)
  • 1 year of office experience (with Bachelor's degree)
  • Proficiency with intermediate to advanced Microsoft Office
  • Experience and knowledge in student financial services, federal student aid programs, and higher education administration
