About The Position

As a Financial Aid Advisor, you’ll do more than process paperwork—you’ll guide students and families through one of the most important decisions of their educational journey with clarity, care, and confidence. Requirements

  • 2–3 years of experience working directly with students and families in Financial Aid
  • Working knowledge of Title IV financial aid regulations
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities
  • Clear, compassionate communication—written and verbal
  • Comfort working with data, calculations, and compliance requirements
  • Ability to exercise sound judgment in nuanced or sensitive situations
  • A service-oriented mindset with a genuine desire to help others succeed
  • Collaborative, accountable, and adaptable in a fast-paced environment

Nice To Haves

  • Bachelor’s degree preferred, but not required

Responsibilities

  • Serve as a trusted resource for students and families by guiding them through the financial aid process, from FAFSA completion to award packaging.
  • Review and analyze financial aid applications to determine eligibility for federal, state, and institutional aid.
  • Award and adjust aid packages in compliance with all applicable regulations and policies.
  • Counsel students and families through individual appointments, workshops, phone calls, email, and virtual tools.
  • Manage verification files, resolve discrepancies, and submit required corrections.
  • Evaluate special and unusual circumstances with sound judgment and empathy.
  • Collaborate across departments to support enrollment, retention, and student satisfaction.
  • Present at orientations, information sessions, and student forums.
  • Support exit counseling for students who withdraw or graduate.
  • Contribute to team initiatives, continuous improvement efforts, and university events.
