Responsibilities

  • Process financial aid for 25-30% of aid recipients, including awarding federal, state, and institutional awards, verifying applications, determining eligibility for loans, approving special circumstances, reviewing enrollment and adjustment requests, ensuring compliance with federal regulations, and processing aid for summer and study abroad students.
  • Maintain current knowledge of federal/state regulations and institutional policy, assist the advising team with creating and improving office processes and policies, attend training sessions, assist with the financial aid policy and procedures manual, and coordinate with other campus offices.
  • Manage several financial aid programs such as Federal Work-Study, Physician's Assistant Program, Freshman Transition Program, Satisfactory Academic Progress, Dependency Override committee, Alternative Loans, and Study Abroad.
  • Counsel students and parents regarding financial aid, assist the financial aid call center with escalated situations, and correspond with students and parents via phone, email, and chat.
  • Participate in financial aid outreach activities including Admissions Open Houses, recruitment events, high school financial aid nights, and Freshman/transfer orientations.
