About The Position

This position exists to serve as the college expert to review, research and evaluate all documents relevant to determine eligibility and awarding large amounts of Federal, State and institutional funds to college students. The incumbent will serve as the primary contact and resource in the financial aid office for all new and returning student. The incumbent is responsible for verification of eligible non-citizens. The position will adhere to all Federal, State, and Institutional Financial Aid Regulations. Serve as college resource liaison regarding all financial aid programs, policies and procedures, providing advising to the college, community, students and parents. Researching information to ensure accurate and timely information is provided within state/federal policy and guidelines. Responsible for certification or origination of federal and all alternative loans college-wide. Manage Cohort Default Prevention program. Serve as a Backup Veterans Certifying Official. Verification of Eligible Non-citizens Complete 150% calculations for students that are requested by the Director of Financial Aid and other staff. Maintain accurate financial aid files for application and award ensuring compliance with Federal verification requirements for individual financial aid student files. Ensure efficient operations of EGF financial aid office. Maintain and coordinate all digital imaging responsibilities in the financial aid office on EGF campus.

Requirements

  • Minimum of two years of experience working in a post-secondary education setting or completion of an Associate’s Degree or the equivalent of a two year diploma.
  • Strong interpersonal communication skills (written and oral) in order to communicate effectively with students, employees without supervision or review
  • Ability to maintain confidentiality of private information according to procedures, rules, and statutes.
  • Computer knowledge, proficiency and understanding with the ability to remain up-to-date with the many software programs utilized in the administration of financial aid.
  • Ability to work closely with the public and be able to clearly inform students and parents of the financial aid process.
  • Willing to work as part of a team

  • In accordance with the Minnesota State’s Vehicle Fleet Safety Program, employees driving on college/university business who use a rental or state vehicle shall be required to conform to MinnState’s vehicle use criteria and consent to a Motor Vehicle Records check.
  • The successful candidate under U.S. Citizenship and Immigration Services regulations must be able to accept work in the U.S. by the day employment begins.
